Number of Croats in Paraguay and their immigration

It is estimated that around 5.000 Croats and their descendants live in Paraguay.  Croats immigrated in Paraguay, as well as Argentina and Uruguay, until the mid 20th century, though in a smaller number than in the last two countries. After the year 1950, Croatian immigration ends (except for individual cases).

On the initiative of the Croatian Embassy in Paraguay, in June 2007, Croatian  immigrants and their descendants established.”Asociacion de descendientes yresidentes Croats en el Paraguay“, first Croatian club in this country.  Before the club was established, it was very difficult to maintain ties with the Croatian immigrants in this country.

For more than twenty years Paraguy-Croatia Chamber of Commerce has been active in Paraguy.
